Of all the Pokemon I've encountered in my journeys, none have been more commonly found than Rattata. A native species to basically anywhere you set foot in, Rattata is a Normal type that evolves into Ratticate. This purple vermin may be common but that isn't to say it's safe. Due to its razor sharp teeth and passion for eating whatever it can find, Rattata have a name for being a pest. If your prize pumpkin has been gnawed through, or there's a bite mark in your bin, it's probably one of these guys.
Rattata found in Alola have been proven to be a duel Dark and Normal type, supposedly matching their shift in colour. In addition to this, Alolan Rattata have much more bushy whiskers, giving them the impression of having facial hair.
Rattata live wherever it can find food, and since it isn't remotely picky, this means it lives just about everywhere though it mainly lives on plains and savannas.
Because it can reproduce so quickly, Rattata can colonize an area within a matter of months.
One has to watch out for this pest in the wild as its been reported that they steal food from unwary travellers.
The only plus side to this vermin is that it is often holding its ill gotten food and if startled will drop it. If you are brave enough you can eat whatever the Rattata drops.
